Thoughts from July 2022

Hello there!

It has been over twelve months since I last posted, and you may well be asking the following question.

What I have been up to during all that time?

To be honest, my lack of blogging has been due to personal and professional commitments. These include spending more time with family and friends, becoming an uncle again, and being the best man at my older brother’s wedding, which was a proud honour for me.

However, the main reason was because for months I had been studying hard for my CompTIA A+ certification. Having attended the courses back in November 2019, I had attempted to pass the first of two exams, but narrowly failed before the first lockdown. Following this, my plans to retake the exams were put on hold because of the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns.

Despite these setbacks, I was determined to retake and pass the exams, as I had made it a personal goal to achieve my CompTIA A+ certification. Therefore, I knew this required me to dedicate maximum time, effort and commitment to learn, study, revise and retake both exams to achieve certification.

Eventually after twelve months of study and revision whilst juggling a busy full-time job, I attempted and passed both exams to achieve my CompTIA A+ certification two months ago. As you can imagine I was so overjoyed with finally achieving my goal after such a long and testing period, that a weight had been lifted from my shoulders.

Since achieving my CompTIA A+, I have been working hard on my fitness. This includes doing strength training in the gym, as well as indulging my passion for running outdoors 3-4 times a week, and I have taken part in 10k races in Liverpool, Port Sunlight and Southport. In addition, I have recently joined my local running club, and also taken part in my first ever Parkrun, which is proving to be an enjoyable and socially fulfilling combination of running, whilst developing friendships with like-minded people.

Anyway that’s a rough idea of how the last twelve months have been for myself personally. There is more I could say, but like all good storytellers it is much better to leave people wanting more.

In the meantime, take care of yourselves and I will be writing again very soon.

Thanks for reading!
